Transferring your number from Ruby to Smith.ai
If you’ve ported your number into Ruby, moving your number to another service like Smith.ai is easy. You may request a transfer of your phone number at any time.
- Email staff@ruby.com AND support@smith.ai to express your desire and approval to transfer your number(s) to Smith.ai. In the email, you will need to include the following:
- Request for Ruby to file a ticket to Twilio (their service provider)
- Phone number(s) you would like to transfer.
- Express approval of the request.
- Smith.ai Account Number which will be provided during onboarding.
- We'll keep you updated on the progress of the request.
What steps to take if you are forwarding to Ruby
If you are forwarding your phone number(s) to Ruby Receptionists, you can easily change the forwarding to Smith.ai by following these steps:
- Sign up for Smith.ai and complete the onboarding process (this can take 1-2 days, but if it’s urgent, let us know, and we can attempt to expedite it). During onboarding, Smith.ai will create a Smith.ai phone number for you and test the phone number.
- When our onboarding team gives you the green light, forward your business line to your dedicated Smith.ai phone number. We already work with every phone system. Use a guide found here to complete call forwarding
- Once forwarding is complete, your calls will start ringing to Smith.ai, and our friendly receptionists will answer your calls according to your instructions, 24/7/365 (or specific times of your choosing).
