How to Forward Calls from Zoho Voice to Smith.ai

If you're a Zoho Voice customer, you'll need to set up call forwarding to Smith.ai for our receptionists to answer your calls.


Prerequisites

How to forward calls from Zoho Voice to Smith.ai

  1. Log into your Zoho Voice Account.
  2. Go to Call Config.
  3. Select the Zoho number you want to configure for call forwarding.
  4. In the incoming tab, select Forward in the Mode dropdown.
  5. Enter your Smith.ai number.
  6. Click Save.

How to forward calls from a Zoho Voice IVR to Smith.ai

Sometimes, you may not want to send all calls to Smith.ai. By following these instructions, you can send callers to Smith.ai who select certain IVR options.

  1. Log into your Zoho Voice Account.
  2. Go to Call Config.
  3. Select the Zoho number you want to configure for call forwarding from an IVR.
  4. In the incoming tab, select IVR in the Mode dropdown. Set up your IVR, as needed, by following these instructions to send calls to Smith.ai.
    1. Create the IVR menu. In the IVR menu, select the number (DTMF key) you want to send to Smith.ai.
    2. Choose Forward for the Action. Then enter your Smith.ai number.
  5. Click OK.

How to forward overflow calls from Zoho Voice to Smith.ai

If you are using Smith.ai to handle overflow calls, you can send those calls directly to Smith.ai in the Call Action Handler inside Zoho Voice. Review this article for more information on how to use the Call Action Handler.

  1. Log into your Zoho Voice Account.
  2. Go to Call Config.
  3. Select the Zoho number you want to configure for overflow call forwarding.
  4. Select the Call Handler Action previously set up to forward calls to Smith.ai.

How to forward after-hours and holiday calls from Zoho Voice to Smith.ai

  1. Log into your Zoho Voice Account.
  2. Go to Call Config.
  3. Select the Zoho number you want to configure for after-hours and holiday call forwarding.
  4. Under Business Hours, you can choose the default business hours (24x7) or create new hours. Create or Edit business hours as follows:
    1. Select the timezone for the business hours.
    2. Select the on-duty days and select the working hours.
    3. You can add breaks by clicking the Add Hours.
  5. While configuring Business Hours, go to Off-Duty Call Actions and select the Off-Duty Handler to forward calls to your Smith.ai number during off-duty hours.
