Use AI Receptionist's background sounds to create a more natural caller experience. You can easily manage your AI Receptionist's background sounds from within your dashboard.
How to Adjust Your AI Receptionist's Background Sounds
Open your dashboard and navigate to AI Preferences, located in the sidebar.

Adjusting Ambient Sound
- Under Background sounds, you’ll see the Ambient sound section. The selection for the Ambient sound setting is "None" by default.
- To enable an ambient sound on your AI Receptionist calls, use the dropdown menu to choose from the available sound environments.
Options include:- None – No background sound.
- Call Center – Background chatter and phone rings from a call hub.
- Quiet Office – Low, steady office hum with minimal distractions.
- Lecture Room – Distant murmurs and occasional classroom sounds.
- Library – Quiet page turns.
- Select the sound of your choice, adjust the volume level to your preference, and click Preview to hear the sound.
- Click Save. The ambient sound will immediately be applied to your AI Receptionist calls.
Adjusting Thinking Sound
Thinking sound is off by default. This setting plays light typing noises when your AI Receptionist is processing or retrieving information during a call, signaling to callers that the AI is still present.
You can turn this setting on or off at any time by clicking the associated toggle. Changes are saved automatically and will take effect immediately.
