You can have each caller type scheduled using different calendar links, allowing you to tailor the experience to their needs — and your business's. For example, AI Receptionist can use one link to book 15-minute new client phone consultations and use another to book 30-minute, on-site meetings for existing clients.

Follow the instructions below to start scheduling!

Note: Scheduling with a non-integrated calendar requires help from a Smith.ai live agent. Learn more about the live agent add-on and how it impacts billing.

Set up live agent scheduling for AI Receptionist

Important: Your booking page link must be publicly accessible. If calendar visibility is restricted, appointments will not be scheduled successfully.

1. Log in to your AI Receptionist dashboard and navigate to the Instructions tab
2. Find the caller type you want to enable scheduling for (e.g., new clients, existing clients, etc.) and click Configure to edit the playbook
3. Scroll down to the section labeled What should we do next? and select Schedule an appointment
4. Select Other public calendar from the list of options within the How should we schedule? dropdown menu
5. Input the link to your calendar or booking form in the Booking page link field
6. Input a name for this calendar in the What should we call this calendar? field (e.g., "New Client Consultation" or "Existing Client 1-on-1")
7. Click Save. Changes will take effect immediately.

Repeat steps 1-7 as needed to enable scheduling for other caller types.
